THE SCRATCH-IT! EPIPHONE SUPERNOVA PLATE SET – MY HOMAGE TO NOEL GALLAGHER’S ICON

Here is my take on the infamous Epiphone Noel Gallagher Signature Supernova plate – well, plates actually, as there are two flavours – both Korean & loosely based on the Epi Sheraton & Riviera models.
As far as I’m aware the early to mid 90s style Peerless factory version featured the loopy signature & was single-ply pearl whilst the later mid 00s Samick factory version featured a longer thinner logo & was on 2-ply pearl, both with the raised Epiphone € logo.
Models are subtly different, but an easy spot between the two is the early Peerless model has the serial number on a sticker inside the body itself, whilst the later Samick model has the serial number on the back of the headstock.
I am by no means an authority on these, so if you know different please shout!
Now, back to the plates . . .
Frustratingly, due to the signature being positioned smack-bang in the sweet-spot of playing it has a habit of wearing off. Quickly. Sigh. Add to that, the stuck-on logo often falls off before a note has been played. Sigh again. This of course now means a good condition original is now rarer than rocking horse do-do & commands a suitably heavyweight price. Ouch.
In an effort to offer something visually similar yet realistically priced, I’ve worked closely with a Supernova aficionado & am proud to offer my own SCRATCH-IT! Supernova plates with the following options:

– Early loopy or late long style signature

– With or without original-style metallic 3D € logo

– With or without printed flat € logo – if you wish to use your own 3D logo simply choose no logos

– Single or 2-ply pearl look

PLUS all orders come with a SUPERNOVA truss rod cover – mint!

PLEASE NOTE although visually very similar, all my plates are produced by bonding full-colour printed vinyl to the rear of clear acrylic & then laser cut, so are essentially single ply with straight edges & are completely flat, so if you choose the printed € logo note that it’s flat rather than the raised 3D like the original metallic 3D style one that I offer, & I give the visual impression of a multi-ply plate by adding a printed black border to the relevant edges. Finally, because they’re printed they won’t reflect the light like true pearloid, yet offer a relatively short-pocket & actually available way to make your Nova more Super.
